I was doing my research on FLEXKARTEL and to see someone so positive like him is amazing , from what I saw that played a huge part on me and being so excited to have him featured on my blog is that he believes in giving . What I mean by giving is that he does a charity event every year called the “ART OF GIVING ” people donating to the less fortunate with a piece of clothing , or canned goods . When I saw that and to see the smile on his face☺️ Just warmth my heart. I won’t get all emotional but I am a true believer in being a blessing, and I know that is why god keeps on blessing FLEXKARTEL ! So the EXCITING NEWS is that I will be featuring a special VIDEO of his visual EPK below where you get to see the amazing FLEXKARTEL in action. I got the chance in getting some Inside scoop 🙌 so check us out✌️

MISSCHLOE: A little background History on you FLEX , fill us in 🙂

FLEXKARTEL: Well My names Flex Kartel, I’m a upcoming DMV artist; who resides in Hyattsville, MD of Prince George’s County. I’ve performed at major venues, with a crowd ranging from 50-10,000 people, at numerous colleges like University of Maryland College Park, Towson University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, to name a few. Flex also performed at Broccoli City & Trillectro Festivals in 2013 (with Phil Ade), as well as local clubs in the PG County and D.C area. Additionally, I have made appearances on VIBE Magazine, Complex Magazine, 106 & Park w/ Phil Ade, SOB’s, The Howard Theater , The LBCC Unity Festival, Atlanta a3c, and The Fillmore.

MISSCHLOE: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

FLEXKARTEL: Drake he’s fearless with his emotions on records and his artistry Is so wide he crosses over rap , Hiphop , and r&b all on the same track.

MISSCHLOE: Yes ! So Powerful in the Game right now . If you could choose to work with some of today’s established artists or producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

lauryn hill
erykah badu
London on the track
Dj mustard
Metro Boomin
J cole , just to name a few.

MISSCHLOE: oh yes !! And you sure do have a nice Line Up lol ! I must say though , No one can ever go wrong with DJ MUSTARD

MISSCHLOE: Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

FLEXKARTEL: Both, depends on who’s listening there’s alway something in the song for the listener to like in some kind of way.

MISSCHLOE: I can so agree on that . And your sound , when I heard it I was beyond shocked . I didn’t know what to expect .

MISSCHLOE: Do you think the advent of internet and all the new technology has helped your music and independent musicians in general, or do you think it just creates a mass of mediocre “copycats” who flood the web, making it difficult to distinguish yourself?

FLEXKARTEL: Both but with the Good always comes the bad. There has always been copy cats in the music industry following whatever sound they could duplicate and make ” their own “. The way I see it the true stars with genuine talent always shine when Gods ready and technology did make it easier for me.

MISSCHLOE: FLEX ! you ain’t never lied about that !!! And I know they say that sometimes it’s ok to cheat in the game , but the way I look at it , it’s a time and place for everything .

MISSCHLOE: How involved are you in the recording, producing, mastering, marketing, and other processes needed to make and sell your music, and do you outsource any part of these processes?

FLEXKARTEL: Everything is in house and I’m very hands on in all my business.

MISSCHLOE: What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most? |

FLEXKARTEL: The part that excites me the most is when the track is finally mixed and mastered. Nothing discourages me because this is my craft and I love everything about it.

MISSCHLOE: Lol you know what, I don’t even do music but I love music , but when that new Single Mixed and Mastered I get excited to lol it’s like you receiving a master piece you can’t wait to share . I absolutely love quality sound !

MISSCHLOE: Which emotion more than any other, currently dominates your music? Joy, sadness, anger or passion etc. , and why?

FLEXKARTEL: All the substance and angles of my songs are different everything. So you never really know what your going to get.

MISSCHLOE: ok than . So just pretty much at that moment.. could be the vide of the beat , the mood your in … Ok I get it ! 🙂

MISSCHLOE: Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is?

MISSCHLOE: God is truly the source of it all .

MISSCHLOE: Which latest songs, videos or mixtapes releases are currently available to your fans and where can they be heard or downloaded?

FLEXKARTEL: I currently have my first mixtape out titled ” 20FK ” you can download it on spinrilla and datpiff.com but i also have new singles available on soundcloud.com coming off my new project dropping this fall titled ” Just For You ” hosted by DJ HoodRich Keem.

MISSCHLOE: alright now !!! Congrats on those , and special s/o to DJ HOODRICH KEEM . Make sure you all check that out .

MISSCHLOE: In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have?

FLEXKARTEL: The best advice I came across was ” keep God close ” and I don’t think anything will ever top that. I don’t think I have advice that was told to me that I knew I should have did.

MISSCHLOE: What in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artist like yourself, has to face and overcome, to gain any commercial success?

FLEXKARTEL: Me being judged by the appearance before they hear the record. Everyone expects party trap music from me all the time because of my dreads but I love my songs to have a meaning with a touch a r&b feel. So branding is barrier for sure.

MISSCHLOE: wow ! I would say that has to be a tough one. It’s sad to say that , that specific image has been portrayed to us like that . Having dreads in the entertainment they instantly think you make trap music . There is a Gospel artist I know with dreads and he received so much judgement about his dreads , how it’s ungodly 👐 like that’s so crazy to me !!!

MISSCHLOE: In closing I want to take the time out in saying thank you for tuning in and being featured on Thatsmisschloe1blog . And may god continue to bless you and your career ! See you at the top
